A Two Way Street

Could I have done more?

Should I have done more? 

An old man might be sad,

And I feel bad. 

I hope he’s relieved.

Didn’t act like he cared.

It’s a two way street,

and I did more than my share. 

My head says I’m right.

My heart feels heavy. 

Rescue and protect,

So easy to say. 

Choose and select,

Right or wrong,

Guilt is the price we pay.
